Where is the freon in the refrigerator

Liquid refrigerant circulates through the chamber evaporator piping system. It is there where a considerable part of freon is located. Its circulation along the line is provided by the compressor.

Absorbing heat from the surrounding space and releasing cold, freon rapidly cools the air. This process is accompanied by the evaporation of liquid and the formation of gas. The gaseous substance enters the compressor, where the vapor condenses and changes back to the liquid state.

In order not to damage the refrigerator and avoid leaks, do not:

– use piercing and cutting tools to clean the chamber;

– Do not drop food or pieces of ice onto the visible part of the evaporator;

– install the unit near a radiator or heating equipment;

– washing the refrigerator with hot or even lukewarm water.

If the hostess defrosts the refrigerator incorrectly, the evaporator can become depressurized. There will be a leak, the liquid will start to evaporate. Frost will appear at the place of damage, but no hissing will be heard.

It is very easy to damage the evaporator by scraping snow off the walls of the freezer. If a large chunk of ice falls on the bottom of the line, you could puncture the line. At the first suspicion that a leak has started, you should contact a special repair shop. If the pipeline is badly damaged, the evaporator will have to be replaced. With minor damages, it can be repaired.

But first, it is necessary to find places of leaks with a special device and solder the damaged parts of the pipeline. It is necessary to solder only when all freon is released from the system. For this, you will need a vacuum pump.

Important: For charging the new models of refrigerators only 200 grams of refrigerant are used. To know the exact quantity of freon, it is enough to look at the label of the compressor.

For charging you need special equipment – a compressor station. Usually, such installation is equipped with two measuring devices. But in this case, you should be guided by the readings of the low-pressure manometer.

Important: Before connecting the unit to the refrigerator and freon cylinder, you must shut off all taps. There are marks on the walls of the charging cylinder, by which you can control the amount of refrigerant.

It is necessary to observe the order of connection of filling station nozzles:

– the right one connects to the pump;

– the middle one connects to the cylinder;

– left one connects to the Schrader valve.

When charging the refrigerator with refrigerant, it is important to observe safety rules. If the unit was purchased recently, and the warranty is still valid, it is better to contact the service center.

When the freon is pumped, you should make sure that the evaporator circuit is closed. Otherwise, it will leak from the piping. Refrigerant escapes silently, so it is difficult to detect a new leak. This requires special equipment.

Without experience, you should not charge your refrigerator with freon yourself. It can be dangerous! Since it is difficult to spot a leak without experience. It is best to contact Poway Appliance Service Center.
