In addition to poor quality spinning or its complete absence, the appliances can signal a breakdown in another way, namely, to emit unusual loud sounds – noise, humming, ringing, etc.

The following recommendations will help you figure out what the cause may be and how to fix it.

Problem #1 – shipping bolts are not removed

Once the selected appliance is delivered to the home, buyers tend to save on the cost of installing the machine and handling the procedure themselves.

Connecting the product to the water supply and sewage system is simple enough. But they forget to remove the fixing bolts that fix the drum during transportation.

After detecting this problem, you should unscrew the remaining bolts and check the operability of the equipment all over again.

Problem #2 – foreign objects in the drum

Putting things to be washed in the drum, it is mandatory to check the presence of various objects in the pockets – keys, coins, receipts, or checks.

If they fall into the drum or tank of the machine, you may hear a tapping sound.

Also, items that are decorated with metal rivets, large zippers with clasps, chains, etc. may make noise when washing. To prevent their knocking against the drum, turn the items inside out, and then only place them in the washing machine.

Problem #3 – wear and tear of bearings in the machine

The drum in the washing machine rotates thanks to the bearings. If the parts are damaged, the drum stops rotating properly and makes an uncharacteristic noise.

To check whether they are the cause, it is necessary to rotate the empty drum from side to side. With wear and failure, the bearings prevent free rotation, you can feel the backlash. During washing, the appliance hums heavily and may vibrate.

If the cause is identified correctly, the bearings should be replaced.

To do this, you will need to perform the following list of actions:

– Disconnect the washing machine from the sewer, and water supply, and de-energize.

– Perform disassembly of the back and top panel according to the instructions.

– Remove the dispenser, and the control unit, unscrewing the screws.

Loosen the clamp, and remove the counterweight, TEH, sockets, and other parts that prevent access to the motor.

– Remove the motor.

– Remove the drum tank.

– Unscrew the drum to remove the pulley and unscrew the shaft.

Knock out the bearing with a special tool – a knockout tool.

– Replace the oil seals.

– Install the new bearing in its seat.

– Assemble the equipment in reverse order.

-It is better to grease the joints of the tank with a sealing agent. For convenience and to remember the order of the procedure, all steps can be recorded with a photo or video.

Problem #4 – problems in the drum fastening

A characteristic sign of pulley looseness is the presence of a click when rotating the drum. The detected problem is eliminated quickly enough. Disassembly of the washing machine is performed in the same manner as the replacement of the bearings.

After the procedure is performed, you will need to check whether the washing machine does not make a noise when spinning. It is better to run a short spin-washing program to make sure that it works properly.

Problem #5 – tank counterweights are poorly secured

The machine is equipped with counterweights to hold the tank in place while washing. If you began to hear a loud noise during operation, you should check the fact of loosening the fasteners of this unit.

If the node fails, you will need to remove the machine panels and unscrew all parts that prevent free access to the counterweights. Then it is necessary to check their integrity and tighten the fasteners.

Trouble #6 – improper installation performed

When installing the washing machine, users do not always pay attention to the quality of the floor surface and the presence of irregularities on it.

As a rule, the tiles are quite slippery and the machine can ride on the floor. To do this, you need to glue rubber tips on the legs in case they are not available.

Special installation mats made of rubber are also sold in stores.

Trouble #7 – high noise level of a particular model

High noise levels may not be the cause of any malfunction. Some budget-range machines are very noisy.

When purchasing the product, it is necessary to inquire about this characteristic. The index in the certificate of equipment is indicated in dB. Quieter models do not exceed 54 dB during washing and 65 dB during unscrewing.

If you find a problem with noise, check the product’s specifications in the documentation.
