If the dryer makes an unusual noise, try the following ways to solve the problem (step-by-step instructions).

1. A newly installed dryer makes an unusual noise:
Some dryer models have automatically triggered shipping bolts that lock the drum in place.
The first time you start the unit, you may hear a knocking noise indicating that the shipping bolts are loosening.
This is a normal phenomenon.
It does not indicate a malfunction of the unit.
In addition, the door is also usually equipped with a shipping lock.
This must be removed manually.
Note: You will not be able to manually turn the drum of a new unit that has never been started.
During the first drying, you may hear a high-pitched squeak.
It could be caused by the pump, the moisture sensor, or a felt strip that needs to be lightly wet before use.
Another possible source of noise could be the electrical box on the back of the unit.
It is located near the fan cover of the unit.
Move the unit slightly away from the wall to try to solve this problem.

2. Creaking while the dryer is running:
The motor is probably blocked or cannot spin freely.
The unit may be overloaded.
Unload a few garments and try again.

3. The dryer makes a squealing or squeaking noise:
This noise may be caused by the moisture sensor or felt strip, which should be lightly soaked before use.

4. Metallic noise during dryer operation
If your machine is equipped with a heat pump, these sounds indicate normal machine operation.
A heat pump is a high-pressure compressor that can make a metallic noise and tapping sound.

5. Creaking while the dryer is running:
This noise may be caused by electrical appliances near the fan housing or a loose fan.
Slightly move the appliance away from the wall.

6. Creaking while the dryer is running:
This sound may be caused by the moisture sensor or felt strip.
If the unit has been purchased recently, this sound usually disappears after some time.
A similar noise can also be caused by individual elements of the laundry loaded in the appliance: metal ties, buttons, zippers, etc.
If the sound does not disappear over time, we recommend that you contact an authorized San Diego Appliance Repair Service Center.

7. Contact an authorized service center:
If the above methods do not solve the problem and You need the dryer repaired San Diego, it is advisable to call a San Diego Appliance Repair Service Center technician.
Caution! Do not use the product until the problem is completely resolved. Unplug the unit and do not plug it in again until you are sure it is working properly.
