The dishwasher has long been more than just a technique. It is an indispensable assistant in the kitchen. However, like any household appliance, it is not protected from breakdowns during operation. The most common reason is the cessation of the water supply. There may be several reasons for this phenomenon. Having learned about them, you will be able to understand why the dishwasher does not draw water. Most often this is due to a violation of the operating conditions that ordinary users allow.

There are two types of reasons why the dishwasher does not draw water:

– malfunctions of a technical nature;
– breakdowns associated with improper use of the equipment.

Faults of a non-technical nature can be easily eliminated on their own. In case of technical breakdowns, you should contact the master of Poway Appliance Service Center, otherwise, you can only aggravate the situation.

Important! Immediately before carrying out any work with the equipment, it should be disconnected from the mains, as well as stop the water supply and observe other precautions.

What to do if the dishwasher does not draw water: “non-technical” points

Let’s talk about common situations due to which the electromechanical installation for automatic washing does not draw water. They are quite easy to eliminate on their own, even if you do not have special skills. Identifying the causes of a non-technical nature is enough to make a visual diagnosis.

To do this, you need to:

– check the water (it may have been turned off by the water utility);
– make sure that the water supply valve is installed in the correct position;
– check whether the door is closed (it must be closed until it clicks);
– inspect the hose for kinks;
– check the filter (there may be a clog in the place where the hose connects to the fuel supply).

Before proceeding to troubleshoot, you should learn more about them.

Water is blocked
On the system, which is used to connect the equipment to the water supply, there is a tap valve. If it is blocked, the water supply will be stopped. Most often, such a tap is placed on the pipe that connects to the equipment.

If the equipment does not draw water, then you should check the tap valve. To do this, follow these simple steps:

1. Turn the valve to the reverse position.
2. Start the sink.
3. Check whether the valve is difficult to rotate and whether it leaks.

Please note that after starting the dishwasher, water will flow through the pipe, accompanied by a characteristic noise and vibrations.

Damaged hose
Carefully inspect the hose that connects the machine to the riser. It may be pressed by something, twisted or damaged. In the latter case, it needs to be replaced.

The door is not closed
This may be the reason for the lack of water. To understand why this happens, you should find out how this element is arranged. A sensor is built into the door. It is responsible for blocking it. This is necessary so that water does not penetrate into the room. If the door is not locked, the sensor transmits the corresponding signal to the control unit, which in turn blocks the opening of the valve. Consequently, water will not flow.

Clogging of the filter
Water in apartment buildings leaves much to be desired. Salt impurities and rusted pipes cause the appearance of debris in it. Since the dishwasher is connected to the water supply, a special filter is installed in it, which cleans the water from mechanical impurities. During operation, organic deposits accumulate. Because of this, the filter is clogged, as a result of which water can not pass through it. To clean it, you need to remove this element and rinse it with citric acid.
