With a slight movement of the hand you have loaded dirty laundry into the drum, habitually poured the powder, poured the conditioner, and quietly went to do other things. But something went wrong during the washing process because after its completion the powder remained in place and the dirty stains on the laundry. The first thought is to need the washing machine repair Poway.

Do not worry! The situation when the washing machine does not flush the powder is quite common and, moreover, is often not associated with serious malfunctions. So stay calm and read our article to figure out what happened to your “helper”.

What to check first, is if there is powder left in the washing machine

Whether water is coming into the machine. It is not difficult to understand this: most machines will not start washing at all, and will inform you about the error. Naturally, if the washing has not started, the powder will remain untouched.

Is the water valve open all the way. It is possible that the tap is not fully open, and therefore the water pressure is too weak. An indirect sign would be the fact that the machine takes unusually long to get water for a standard washing cycle.

Is the water pressure in the water supply sufficient? If the shutoff valves are open, and the pressure is weak – the problem may lie in the water supply system. If all taps have low pressure, contact your building management company.

You may have mixed up the dispenser branches. Carefully read the instructions: sometimes users confuse the compartments and put the powder in the prewash compartment instead of the main compartment. If you select a program without a prewash cycle, of course, the powder will remain untouched.

The powder flush channel in the dispenser is not clogged. In this case, water enters the dispenser, but because the channel is clogged, it cannot “carry” all the powder into the drum. To avoid this, it is recommended to periodically take out the detergent tray and rinse it under warm running water.

Do not overfill the detergent. If there is too much detergent, some of it will stay in the powder tray. So use measuring spoons: this will save your budget from unnecessary spending, and you – from unnecessary worries about the “not working” machine.

Whether the powder is of high quality or not. As practice shows, cheap powders often clump together and stick to the walls of the dispenser tray. Yes, of course, you can wash the tray after each wash, but even this does not always help, and the machine can not wash the laundry properly. So choose wisely!

But what if – the valve is open, the powder you wash for many years, you always follow the instructions clearly, no traces of a clogged dispenser tray is not found, and in the washing machine is still left powder? It seems that your machine has had some kind of malfunction after all.

Typical breakdowns in which the washing machine poorly flushes the powder
Below are described the main troubles, the elimination of which is better to trust a master.

1. The filter strainer is clogged.
It is located in front of the water inlet valve. Most often this happens because of the poor quality of tap water.

2. The water inlet valve is defective
Normally, the valve opens and the machine draws enough water for all operations, including powder intake. But if the valve fails, the water either does not come at all (in this case the machine signals the absence of water) or comes in less – this happens if the diaphragm opens partially.

3. Fault in the water supply mechanism of the detergent tray
In this case, the powder remains perfectly dry and untouched because the flow of water, which normally should flush the powder, does not reach the correct compartment. The direction of water is adjusted by turning the nozzle (when selecting a washing program), and “moving” it through a special cable on a spring. Sometimes this cable is shifted, “jams”, or breaks at all, which leads to the incorrect water supply.
