Choosing a new refrigerator, and do not know which system to buy: drip or “No Frost”?

Some believe that refrigeration units with the “no-frost” function are very noisy, and others that the back panel of refrigerators with a drip system is always wet. Which device is better?

This is the task facing many users. To answer the question, of which of these refrigerators is really the best, is quite difficult because each person has their own requirements for such devices. However, there are some recommendations that will help you make the right choice.

The difference between refrigerators with No Frost system and drip system.

The “No Frost” system translates as “no frost”. And this is true because refrigeration equipment with such a system will never be covered with a thick layer of ice. The constant air flow in such a device prevents the appearance of condensation on its panels. Initially, such devices were made for countries with humid climates, so in our country, when using such a system, some products can dry out quickly. However, this problem can be avoided if you store all products in containers.

Refrigerators with a drip system function a little differently. On the back panel of such units, there is an evaporator, with the help of which condensate is formed. Gradually, water begins to flow down the walls of the refrigerator into a special container, from where it evaporates again. The disadvantage of this system is that when the drain hole is forgotten, the water begins to drain to the bottom of the refrigerator under the containers with vegetables. But, if the refrigerator is constantly looked after, then this problem can be avoided. It is worth noting that the drip system does not work in the freezer.

The disadvantage of the “No Frost” system is that due to the built-in fan, there is little space in the chamber. In addition, some models of refrigerators with this system are quite noisy and consume much more energy than refrigerators with a drip system.

As you can see, each system has its pros and cons, so it is difficult to make a choice. Choose the refrigerator model that best meets your requirements.
