It is impossible to give recommendations that would be suitable for repairing all types of washing machines. After all, each model of washing machine has its own instructions for its repair, which are available only to the masters of the relevant service centers. So let’s look at the basic tips for repairing possible breakdowns in all washing machines.

One of the most common breakdowns is considered to be extraneous noise, which occurs as a result of various objects falling into the area between the tank and the drum mechanism. Such objects can be coins, buttons, or any other elements of clothing. Noises can also appear as a result of abrasion of seals and water ingress into the bearings of the rotor or drum mechanism.

In order to check all the parts of the tank, you need to have access to the upper part of it. In all models of machines, this can be done in different ways: in some, open the side cover, and in some, the back or top. This must be done to check the operation of the shock absorbers. Press on the tank by hand so that it moves down about 5 or 6 centimeters. The suspension system will be considered working if, after pressing on the drum, it takes the same position. If it does not stop rotating and looks like a pendulum, then this indicates a malfunction of the suspension elements.

If you are checking the machine with front loading, then in this case, when pressing on the tank, you should not see wrinkles on the cuff of the laundry hatch. If the machine has vertical loading, then you need to check whether the water tank is sagging or not.

Noises that appear due to the wear of seals, you can also detect yourself. To do this, remove the belt and spin the drum manually. If you do not hear any noise at this time, the seals are in normal condition. If on the contrary: you hear extraneous noises and creaks, it indicates that you need to replace both bearings and seals.

If water gets into the motor bearings, then there are three ways to solve this problem:

1. Replace the entire motor.

2. Disassemble the motor, remove the bearing cover, clean the separator and renew the lubricant.

3. Install a new bearing.

Extraneous noises during the spin function can be observed if the counterweights are defective or their fastening is broken. You can fix the counterweights with PVA glue with cement solution.

Mechanical breakdowns include such as cracks in the tank, corrosion in enamel tanks, and loose connections in the nozzles. Thus, if you are faced with such problems and do not know how to fix a particular breakdown, contact a qualified specialist for help.
